Chamber Orchestra kicks off 40th anniversary celebration
The Long Prairie Chamber Orchestra began its 40th anniversary celebration last Saturday night when they performed their “Celebrations” concert at the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle High School Auditorium. The concert featured seven different arrangements. The LPCO played in memory of former member Sarah Toews, who passed away on July 1. They also recognized Orv Dahlen, the original director of the orchestra, for all his work in and dedication he put in to get the LPCO off the ground. The 40th anniversary celebration will continue when they perform their New Year’s Eve concert on Dec. 31. Their spring concert is scheduled for April 23 and they will perform the summer concert on Aug. 3 and 4 next year.
